The Law Really Is An Ass!!

Today i read something quite interesting and thought provoking.

” In most countries worldwide it is illegal to have sex with a child less that 16 years of age, yet it can be allowed with the parents consent to marry a child of less than 16 years of age”

So this got me thinking, it seems in the world pedophilia is allowed as long as you marry that child that you are defiling. This shows that the law really is an ass. I say this because i feel it is by no means ok for a grown ass man, or even a boy to marry a child, taking away their child hood and innocence.

Know i know i talk about this a lot and i am probably just rambling, but the fact of the matter is i am being bombarded with news of kids being married off  by their parents even at the tender age of 12 years old and the media in which i see these stories plastered on is trying to make it seem like this is a normal occurrence, it is pretty much socially acceptable practice in most Muslim countries ( Now dont get me wrong, i am in no way saying this is a Muslim practice, i am just saying it is mostly done in Muslim countries like Malaysia, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, etc.)It just makes me sick to my stomach.

World Aids Day!!

As I wake up this morning i make it a point to let everyone know what today is. I have realized that it is in the society that i live in that no one care about educating themselves on this crucial matter, they live life( ignorantly thinking it does not concern them) day to day having unprotected sex, selling their bodies for not more than 20 buck even some of the doctors attempt to use the same needle on different patients *gasp*! So here is my little piece of encouragement and enlightenment for all who might be oblivious to this matter.

world

World AIDS Day is celebrated on December 1 each year around the world. It has become one of the most recognized international health days and a key opportunity to raise awareness, commemorate those who have passed on, and celebrate victories such as increased access to treatment and prevention services.

UNAIDS took the lead on World AIDS Day campaigning from its creation until 2004. From 2004 onwards the World AIDS Campaign’s Global Steering Committee began selecting a theme for World AIDS Day in consultation with civil society, organisations and government agencies involved in the AIDS response.

Themes run for one or two years and are not just specific to World AIDS Day. Campaigning slogans such as ‘Stop AIDS. Keep the Promise’ have been used year round to hold governments accountable for their HIV and AIDS related commitments.

It is such a shame to see that the people around me, people in my environment do not even know the symptoms of AIDS, they do not even know it is contracted, they just believe its a disease for homosexuals(yes still on that train) or for bad people, or even for non-Muslims(i live in a Muslim country, Malaysia and i’m surrounded by Arabs, Pakistanis, Bangladeshis and of course Malaysians). It even hurts me more when they stupidly believe only Africans have AIDS( I mean what kind of fucked up ridiculousness is this!!).

Anyway, on this day i hope we an all learn a little bit more about this pandemic and educate as well as protect ourselves.

My Heart Is Bleeding For Amanda Todd..

I don’t have much to say other than i am in pain to see that a child can be bullied so much so that she ends up seeing the only way out as killing herself. I know i might be a little late to this story, but i just had to say something after i saw that video. I could not stop crying for days on end for the pain that this girl had to struggle through.

Amanda’s ordeal began at the age of 12 when she was fooling around with friends and lifted her her top for someone on the other end of a webcam.

The person was not a boy of her age though, but a suspected paedophile from across the border in America, who went on to terrorize her right up until her death.

“The Internet stalker she flashed kept stalking her,” said Ms Todd. “Every time she moved schools he would go undercover and become a Facebook friend.

“He went online to the kids who went to (the new school) and said that he was going to be a new student – that he was starting school the following week and that he wanted some friends and could they friend him on Facebook.

“He eventually gathered people’s names and sent Amanda’s video to her new school.”

The video and photos went to teachers and parents as well as pupils.

The bullies began to taunt her with names such as “porn star” and Amanda became anxious, withdrawn and desperate to avoid going to lessons.

Police were never able to track her stalker down, but they did trace the messages to the United States.

Despite their investigations though, the man continued to stalk Amanda, and even threatened to circulate the pictures again unless she gave him another “show”.

She refused so he carried out his threat, and her pain was amplified by her classmates who it’s claimed shared the photos on their cellphones.

She was verbally abused and beaten up.

“Everything she said in the video happened over the past two years,” said Ms Todd. “It was horrendous. I think about it now and I think, ‘Oh my God. How did she survive this long with the pain?’ ”

Amanda had made previous attempts to take her own life, but Ms Todd said that in the weeks leading up to her death she had begun to feel “normal” again, doing things like going to the mall with friends again.

I seriously can not stop thinking how is it that no one around her realized what was going on in her life? How is it that the kids who were bullying her were never stopped? It just makes me see how very little we as humans pay attention to others. I will let the video speak for its self..

Watch Amanda’s video below: Warning – graphic content

Amazingly even after death Amanda is still being bullied..I do not not what kind of world we live in where people still try to hurt those who have left this world.

I pray for her family and for all the other families who have lost a child to bullying..

The Safety Of Our Girls Is In Our Hands..

I lie on my bed with tears in my eyes. I want to cry not just for me, but for the horror that i see in the world. How can it be so hard to be a young girl in the planet that we live in? Has the world not evolved and changed at all!? It pains me.

I read all these articles on the news ( BBC, CNN, Yahoo, MSN live and just general news casters) talking about young girls, as young as 13 years old being killed and called whores because some old perverts decided to rape them, Its a shame how in some parts of the world if a girl is raped she has to hide it for the fear of being shamed and chastised even though it was not her fault.

An example of the terror thats ripping through our communities is the story below.

A father of a teenage girl who was gang-raped by eight men poisoned himself after a video clip of the attack was passed through the family’s village in India.

The 16 year-old girl, from Dabra village in Hisar, north India, was subjected to the horrifying ordeal on September 9, after apparently rebuffing the advances of one of the men.

The Dalit family had tried to keep the assault private, but days later when footage shot by one of the attackers was shown to villagers the girl’s humiliated father, Krishan, killed himself.

This is not the only shocking story of a kind, if i list them out you would feel like killing all the men in the world just so that our little girls can be as safe as imaginable possible. Their innocence is stolen and can never be retrieved again.

Little girls are our future, women make the world a better place, and with all these little girls being tortured, raped, sold into sex slavery, kidnapped, murdered for standing up for their rights, with so many situations clipping their wings, what kind of future do we see for our planet?!

I have a poem from my other blog called Little Girl that explains my fear, and sadness much better than i can articulate here.

Today i suggest you nurture, hug, help just 1 little girl in your life to show them how much they are loved and to put a smile on their face.

Great Activists Come In All Sizes..

As i’m sure most of us have been following the story of the courageous little girl “Malala” who was brutally shot because she had a blog emphasizing on girl’s education in Pakistan, i just wanted to have an overview of our planet when kids are concerned.

In first world countries, we tend to take menial things that other kids around the globe are fighting and wishing to get( like education) for granted. Bailing out of school and wanting to live a comfortable bum life instead of getting knowledge. This little Pakistani girl, Malala Yousufzai was coming home from school in a van with other school children when Taliban assassins stopped the vehicle, climbed on and demanded that the children identify her. Terrified, the children did it and the men fired, also wounding two other girls. She was however fortunate enough to survive and is now recovering from this brutal attack.

At only 14 years old, she is already a global symbol, fighting for the right to education and to freedom and to have a voice, the more interviews she is given the more mature and adult like she seems.

Below is a small piece from an interview she gave in the 2011 with CNN:

Why do you risk your life to raise your voice? a reporter asked her.

In perfect English, she answered that her people need her.

“I shall raise my voice,” she insisted.

“If I didn’t do it, who would?” she said.

Girls who are scared should fight their fear, she said.

“Don’t sit in your bedrooms.

“God will ask you on the day of judgment, ‘Where were you when your people were asking you … when your school fellows were asking you and when your school was asking you …’Why I am being blown up?’ ”

In a world filled with darkness, wicked people and wars, she is our trickle of light showing that there is still hope.I pray for her recovery and hope that this article of this small girl with tremendous hope and courage inspires all..

Let’s Go Pink!

As some of you might not know, October is breast cancer awareness month!

As The month of October begins, i want all of us to pay attention to the rising numbers  of breast cancer throughout the entire world. A lot of people do not now the symptoms of breast cancer( or that it does not cancer women only as men can also get it), neither do they even know how to conduct self breast cancer checks.

What is breast cancer?

Breast cancer is a malignant tumor (a collection of cancer cells) arising from the cells of the  breast. Although breast cancer predominantly occurs in women it can also affect men.

Symptoms of breast cancer:

Initially, breast cancer may not cause any symptoms. A lump may be too small for you to feel or to cause any unusual changes you can notice on your own. Often, an abnormal area turns up on a screening mammogram (x-ray of the breast), which leads to further testing.

According to the American Cancer Society, any of the following unusual changes in the breast can be a symptom of breast cancer:

  • swelling of all or part of the breast
  • skin irritation or dimpling
  • breast pain
  • nipple pain or the nipple turning inward
  • redness, scaliness, or thickening of the nipple or breast skin
  • a nipple discharge other than breast milk
  • a lump in the underarm area

Even though these are symptoms of breast cancer, they sometimes just turn out to be a less serious condition like a cyst. It is important to go and see a doctor if you see any of these signs.

Facts about breast cancer:

  • Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women.
  • One in every eight women  develops breast cancer.
  • There are many types of breast cancer that differ in their capability of spreading (metastasizing) to other body tissues.
  • The causes of breast cancer are not yet fully known although a number of risk factors have been identified.
  • There are many different types of breast cancer.
  • Breast cancer is diagnosed with physician and self-examination of the breasts, mammography, ultrasound testing, and biopsy.
  • Treatment of breast cancer depends on the type of cancer and its stage (the extent of spread in the body).

Breast Cancer Self Exam

As a woman you need to do the self exam below at least every morning in order to make sure that all is right.

Lets all be aware this month and try to teach as many people as we can!

The man behind the evil..

For weeks now i have debated commenting about this topic.. Avoiding it at all costs, but i just can not stand being silent anymore..

As we all know and have seen a few weeks ago an anti Islam trailer was released and things went from zero to 100 in a matter of hours.. Americans in Arab countries died because of this film, Muslims were insulted because of this film, friendships deteriorated because of it and violence erupted all over the world against anything American was on an all time high.

His crudely made 13-minute video was filmed in California and circulated online under several titles including “Innocence of Muslims.” It portrays the Prophet Mohammad as a fool and a sexual deviant.

The clip sparked a torrent of anti-American unrest in Egypt, Libya and dozens of other Muslim countries over the past two weeks. The violence coincided with an attack on U.S. diplomatic facilities in Benghazi that killed four Americans, including the U.S. ambassador to Libya.

Personally i do not really want to comment on the film its self because it was not only respectful, but very cheap looking and obviously ridiculous!

I believe that this man is evil and deserves more punishment than he is getting because he cause a world wide controversy, caused deaths of countless people in many different countries as well as the fall out of many companies( like macdonalds and KFC being burned down in Pakistan). The man behind this evilness was arrested on Thursday in California for allegedly violating his probation, and a federal judge ordered him jailed without bond.

Nakoula Basseley Nakoula, 55, was taken into custody at an undisclosed location by U.S. marshals and brought to court in Los Angeles still wearing his street clothes but handcuffed and shackled at the waist.

Nakoula has been under investigation by probation officials looking into whether he violated the terms of his 2011 release from prison on a bank fraud conviction while making the film, though authorities have said they were not probing the movie itself.

“The court has a lack of trust in the defendant at this time,” U.S. Magistrate Judge Suzanne Segal said in refusing Nakoula’s request for bail at a hearing in U.S. District Court.
